HIGH BANDWIDTH SOLUTION AT THE FOREFRONT OF FSO TECHNOLOGY The quick and cost-effective provision of high-bandwidth communications has led to PAV's recently launched PAVLight range - a system which features the latest innovations in Free Space Optic (FSO) technology. PAV, one of the market leaders in FSO transmission systems, has developed PAVLight to provide scalable bandwidths from 1.54 Mbps to 1Gbps. The system provides a high speed broadband wireless connection over distances up to 4 kilometres. Its scalability and flexibility make it an attractive tool for network planners aiming to solve connectivity bottlenecks, and it can be installed and provide service in hours rather than days. This ease of installation, as no planning permission or government licences are needed, gives users significant benefits in terms of time and cost savings. PAVLight features Advanced Digital Modules (ADM) to provide the maximum variation of FSO solutions. Performance and availability are enhanced - even in differing climatic conditions - through the use of unique Holographic Light Shaping (HLS), Automatic Noise Reduction (ANR) and Clock/Data Recovery (CDR) circuiting. Connection is simple, utilising a standard multi-mode fibre optic connection to provide standard 10 Base F, 100 Base F or 100 Base F interfaces to the customer's network - or allowing a carrier to implement an E1/T1 or multiple E1/T1 aggregated system. Capacity can be upgraded at a later date thanks to the modularity. Paul Widdrington concludes: "The technology behind PAVLight means maximum benefits for users.
