The SkyCell™ MultiMux Series of
telecommunications products provide a
secure, cost effective means of achieving
multiple 2 Mb/s G.703 E1 connections across open
spaces and removes the need for costly leased
lines or microwave/ radio systems.

The MultiMux interface units combine up to four E1
channels over a single Infra red transmission system, each
of the E1 channels is transmitted independently, such that the clock of each E1 channel is independent of the clock of any other E1 channel.

Two formats of the MultiMux Series are available offering connection capabilities over distances of 2000 and 4000 metres.

Connectivity:
Connection between the main telecommunications / data networking hardware and the MultiMux interface unit is achieved via either, a 75 unbalanced BNC, or 120 balanced RJ45 connection - the connection between the MultiMux interface unit and the Infra red transmitter being achieved via a 1300nm SC multimode fibre optic connection.

Configuration:
Due to the unique nature of the SkyCell™ MultiMux Series of products, a seamless interconnection of either telecommunications or data networking hardware can be achieved. All equipment operates at the full rated bandwidth and introduces near zero latency between sites. Additionally, due to the nature of the technology utilised, there is no interruption of any clocking mechanisms within PABX's or similar telecommunications equipment.

Monitoring:
The MultiMux interface may be configured, monitored or maintained by utilising either an ASCII terminal or a SLIP connection to an SNMP management station. The MultiMux interface also incorporates LED status indicators, AIS alarm generation recognition and dry contact closure upon link failure.

Security:
By utilising unique advanced error resistant coding within the full range of equipment manufactured, a highly secure connection is achievable which is transparent to RF scanners or spectrum analysers.

Performance:
The system offers an industry accepted performance availability figure, which, through field trials and independent laboratory testing, has achieved a continuous operational availability in excess of 99.1% to 99.9% within the UK and worldwide.

All PAV systems hav been designed to the highest specifications and offer a bit error rate greater than 10-10 during operational availability.
